As you may or may not have noticed, I kind of stopped updating this blog. Nothing against Vox, but I just felt it was time to move on and try something different. I also seemed to be suffering from some major writers block {not that I'm a real writer} and thought a change of scenery might do me some good. So after going back and forth with different blogging software I decided my best option was to re-activate my original Typepad blog which use to be called Metal, Beer and Heart Surgery. It will pretty similar what this blog was, but I will hopefully be updating much more often. I'm still not 100% committed to the look and feel of it, so there may be a few changes in the future. I have also decided to leave the Heart Surgery posts up, so if you end up here looking for my surgery posts, please go to the new blog and look at the archives.
So with all that being said, please go check it out, and feel free to leave some feedback and comments. I promise to be better about responding to your comments. And if you want to exchange links, just let me know!
Thanks for continuing to read my babble and checking out my photos. Cheers!
After three shows in three nights last week, I am finally able to do a little catching
up here! Wednesday I photographed Cheap Trick and Journey, {Heart was
on the bill as well, but didn't allow professional photographers}
Thursday was Black Tide, Bleeding Through and Bullet For My Valentine,
and Friday was Wardogs, The Adolescents, and Rancid. Unfortunately I had to sign a release which
prevents me from showing my photos of Cheap Trick and Journey at this
time, but below is a picture of the guitar pick that Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen
flicked at my camera lens. Reviews and more photos from all shows
posted soon!
In the past two weeks, I've been to six shows. I've seen approx.19 bands including Iron Maiden, Death Angel, Megadeth, High On Fire, Arch Enemy, Ladytron, and Candlemass. I've probably taken well over 3000 pictures, and consumed more than a few beers. Unfortunately I was unable to secure a photo pass for Iron Maiden, but it was still a pretty damn incredible show! I think I'm done for a couple of weeks, but plan on hitting at least five more shows this month!
Lilia and I are off to Maui tomorrow morning, where we will be photographing the wedding of Miz. Ginevra!
Very Busy these days. Work has been a bit slowly lately, so I've been putting in a few 6 day work weeks. As I'm sure you've read, Lilia and I have been photographing a few events over the last few weeks, and it's been a great experience, as well as a total blast. Not too many shows as of late, but I do plan on checking out Demoncy over in Alameda on Monday. I've only been able to make it to two Giants games so far this season, but will be hitting MANY more games, and watch the G-Men attempt to stay above the .500 mark. {Finally got my All-Star Game tickets!} Have had some bike issues lately, but it is now in good hands and I will have it back next week, and plan on WILL do some serious riding this Summer. Still making it to the gym 4 times a week. Scott, Jateen and I are still making it out on Thursday nights, and were at Toronado for a few pints last night. TONS of new music, hope to put up some reviews/thoughts soon. {Finally got the Clown Alley reissue!} Been picking up the guitar more lately. Enjoying the North Star Red back on tap at 21st Amendment, Beer-Fest coming up in early June, Going to Texas for a family reunion at the end of June, {no, I'm not from Texas, but Pittsburgh, Pa.} Heading up to Sacramento to see 7 Seconds {who, BTW, are in my "Top 3" favorite bands of ALL TIME} in July, AND, most importantly, next weekend Lilia and I are flying to Maui to photograph the wedding of Miz Ginevra! Looking forward to a very eventful summer. So there you have it! I may not be commenting much lately, but I enjoying checking in on my neighbors{Vox and othewise} everyday! So, what been up with YOU?
P.S.~ Make sure and catch "Classic Albums, The Number Of The Beast" on VH1 this month!
